I’m A Celeb fans convinced comedian Joe Lycett is behind terrifying Jester voice

I'm A Celebrity viewers were left very creeped out by the Jester who gave out some hilarious tasks after he appeared in Thursday night's show.

Newcomers Ruthie Henshall and Russell Watson were startled as the painting of the Jester began talking to them as his eyes moved.

Ruthie was alone when he first started talking, and was told to get someone to rub her feet in exchange for luxury items.

She was then told to include Russell and the pair had to convince the campmates to choose the wrong answer for the eating challenge, which saw Shane and Beverley choose between ready salted crisps and custard creams.

The final task saw Russell pretend to scream while sleeping and pretend he had seen a ghost in the haunted castle, which he successfully did.

But as the pair got all 12 luxury items for the celebrities, fans rushed to social media to share their theories on the voice behind the Jester.

Many thought it was comedian Joe Lycett, as one posted: "Someone tell me that jester ain't Joe Lycett doing a Welsh accent."

Another added: "You cannot convince me this isn't @joelycett with a fake accent."

A third chipped in: "Why does the #imaceleb jester sound like Joe Lycett?"

A fourth asked: "Is that the voice of @joelycett as the jester?"

Meanwhile, many also commented on how terrifying" the Jester was, including Giovanna Fletcher's husband Tom.

He posted on Twitter: "The boys will be having nightmares about Dave the jester now."

Many agreed, as one said: "Everytime I close my eyes I see that jester and honestly I am terrified."

Another agreed: "Think I'm gonna have nightmares about Dave the Jester from #ImACeleb tonight."

A third chipped in: "That Jester voice on I’m a Celeb is bloody scary , wonder who the voice artist is?"

The jester's hand positions were also noted, as he kept his face partiality hidden behind his fingers.

Some pointed out how it looked similar to Shane's hands during the live announcement of who is doing the trial, which sees Shane hide some of his face behind fingers.

Looks like Shane may have been rumbled…

I'm A Celeb continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
