A teacher was blown away when their student sent them a thoughtful message after class.
After a difficult day teaching students about the Holocaust, the Jewish man was grateful for the text.
So he thanked the youngster by sharing a screenshot of the iMessage on Reddit.
He wrote: “I am a teacher. I am also Jewish.
“I received this message today from a student after my introductory lesson on the Holocaust.”
The text reads: “Hey Mr (Teacher). I just want to say thank you for telling us about your history.”
The message adds: “Even though it's a part of our lesson I know it’s hard for you to have to talk about this (in) almost all your classes and look at these pictures over and over.
“I could tell that it was hard for you to talk about when it came towards certain subjects…
“I just want to make sure you’re OK and that I really really really do appreciate you for opening up and pushing through just so we could know what was going on in history.”
The post garnered 84,000 upvotes on Reddit – and many say the kind words had brought them to tears.
A responder admitted: “Hi, this is beautiful, I’m crying. Maybe there is hope for future generations?”
Another joked: “I seem to have something in my eye…”
And a third admitted: “Ooh, that hit me right in the feels, man.”
Many also took the time to leave kind words for the student and teacher.
A Redditor gushed: “Really thoughtful kid. And than you for teaching even though it is painful material for you.”
And another said: “This kid has a big heart and a lot of empathy. I’m happy they are in the world. It’s really nice to see.”
